How to meet the Financial Requirement

Meeting the financial requirement as part of an entry clearance or leave to remain application when applying as a partner, or if you want to settle in the UK.

You must provide evidence of earning a minimum income of £18,600 per year ( additional £3800 for first child, £2400 for each child after).

Your income can either be from employment, self-employment or as director of a limited company in the UK. If you do not earn £18600 per year you may combine your current salary with savings.

Other income includes income from pension or property rentals.

If you do not have any earnings you can satisfy this requirement with savings of £62,500 alone.

When applying for further leave to remain both you and your partner can combine incomes to meet the £18600 requirement.

You do not need to meet the income requirement if you're in receipt of certain allowances.
